e-commerce solution | on-line community

Barry and Jomo Hankerson are masters of their craft. Under their skillful direction this influential Hip Hop and R&B label has managed to retain their independence from parent company Universal Records, while maintaining access to Universal’s extensive distribution network. Recognizing the significant “digital-shift” in the music industry, Blackground has been successful in promoting their artists via individual websites and direct marketing with myspace.com.

Blackground Records contracted with e-native to design, and implement, the company’s essential web 2.0 strategy. We are now working with Blackground to establish the label’s brand identity and web presence. Our first directive: design, implement, and rollout on-line store/e-commerce solution as quickly as possible. Lyra Kamoku, Blackground Director of IT, teamed with e-native, and together we executed a fast-track, e-commerce project plan to achieve in four weeks what her predecessor could not in twelve months. www.blackgroundstore.com

The next step is to establish the base of Blackground.com, a highly interactive on-line community with music at its core. Phase 1 go-live scheduled for 1st quarter 2007. We will be reporting the progress of this momentous, exciting, team-based effort through our case studies blogs.

Pride Jeans, fashion visionaries

art direction | content production | branding | web design | operations optimization

Founded in 1993 by denim guru Georges Atlan, Pride Jeans produces fashion-forward denim, knit and woven styles for women, men and children. The company’s impressive client roster includes over 100 premium labels – among them 7 for All Mankind, Antik Denim, Rock and Republic, Calvin Klein, Hudson and bebe. www.pridejeans.com

art direction | content production

Today, Georges and Yves Atlan continue to approach the high-end fashion business with fresh vision and vigor. They created a cutting edge design studio within their premium factory location in downtown LA. This seamless and creative approach brings Pride designers closer to a highly specialized production process. e-native was contracted to art direct and produce a photo-shoot to illustrate this new creative vision. We teamed with internationally recognized, avant-garde fashion photographer, Sinisha, to achieve our vision. The e-native/Sinisha team delivered a top quality product, on time and on budget. www.sinisha.net

brand image | web design

e-native translated Pride Jeans’ unique brand identity into their logo by creating a design that spoke to the essence of the company: George Atlan's personal signature. We brought in our own copywriter thus ensuring all essential elements were acquired with a singular vision and voice. Armed with the essential brand logo, and descriptive text, e-native designed an original website featuring Sinisha's photography. The website was a stepping-stone onto the web for Pride Jeans. With acquired experience in hand, and significant changes to reflect within the business, Pride is ready for a new e-native website.

operations optimization
The Atlan brothers' vision for Pride Jeans extends to lean, efficient business operations. e-native is now engaged in a review of Pride operations applications to achieve this goal. We will be reporting on the exciting developments at Pride Jeans through our case studies blog.

Forecast, Birth of a Brand

product conception | product design | branding | logo design | package design
point of sale display design

e-native co-founder, Jeffrey Blum, is the product of three proud generations of Swiss watch makers. While creative conception fills Jeffrey’s mind, watch design is, quite literally, in his blood. In the year 2000, the Swatch Group hired Jeffrey to enhance the group’s brand identity, and to conceive multiple new designs of Swatch watches. The experience proved so rewarding that Jeffrey immediately embarked on a project to create his own, unique, series of timepieces. His first move was to team with creative design genius, Romain Vollet www.spanklab.com. The product of this long-standing creative team speaks for itself. Three models of the sporty/elegant watches, each with unique design innovations, have been completed.

The last stage of the concept-to-production processes led the duo to senior prototype production specialist, Fulvio Borel. Among numerous accomplishments Fulvio has produced, and manufactured, watches for Tag Heuer and Mauboussin.

The net result is a fully developed package of three innovative watch prototypes, complete with all critical branding elements in logo design, as well as packing and supporting POS display. Jeffrey and Romain are now in the process of shopping this impressive package. In keeping with their insatiable appetite for innovative design, the duo has already produced an innovative “gadget watch.” We will be reporting the exciting developments of this dynamic design duo through our e-native case studies blogs.

Tarra Rosenbaum, jewels in Bali Monday, December 4, 2006

e-commerce solution | sales and distribution operations

Tarra Rosenbaum is a true artisan designer influenced by the beauty and mystery of natural elements. She started designing jewelry as she traveled through Indonesia where she discovered equal riches in nature, culture and the level of skill possessed by local craftsmen. Tarra makes a concerted effort to support her adopted community and maintains her operations with independent craftsmen in Bali today. Tarra needed to establish her sales and distributions operations on the web so that she could continue to travel, and invest her creative energy in the highly specialized offshore production process. e-native made it happen with a streamlined, reliable, on-line store solution. www.tarrarosenbaum.com

the e-native effect
It didn’t take long for us to connect a hot, NYC-based, jewelry designer and a fresh new art gallery located in the middle of übercool Abbott Kinney Street, Venice, CA. A combination of Tarra’s prestigious association with Art Finance Partners in New York City, and e-native’s relationship with Sean Knibb, inspired the upcoming Tarra Rosenbaum trunk show at the 1522 Gallery. This will be an exclusive West Coast show as Tarra is, once again, on her way back to Bali for months of handcrafting jewelry. Our case studies blog will keep you posted on this event and more as this gifted young designer, and humanitarian, continues on her path. www.1522gallery.com
